This programme consists of a five-day standalone course of study focused on the luxury industry, offered from July 19 to July 23, 2023, and consisting of a variety of integrated virtual courses, workshops, projects and excursions.

OverviewThe Programme


Course content will be augmented by experiential and site-specific learning opportunities and will be taught by industry experts in entrepreneurship. Students will have access to professors from the Murray Koppelman School of Business at Brooklyn College, the University of Hertfordshire and industry practitioners from the US and UK. Classes will meet Monday–Friday.

Course content and topics will consider business models of global luxury brands and smaller enterprises including start-ups. Management practices from the more traditional to the highly innovative will be analysed to identify effective business strategies. Firms within the fashion and jewellery sector will be a particular focus of the course. Students will be exposed a variety of areas within business including finance, management, marketing and legal matters. Virtual visits will be organised to companies where students will have a chance to meet a wide range of professionals within their work environments, ranging from executives, programmers, designers, architects and craftspeople. Students will work throughout the course in teams to complete a project focused on one of the core themes.  The final project will encompass business planning, design and social media components.

Students are required to successfully complete the programme to receive a Certificate of Completion in Luxury Entrepreneurship from both Brooklyn College and the University of Hertfordshire.
